Our members invest to ensure reliable and sustainable power supply for Ghana and the Ecowas sub-region. Our membership currently comprises of nine (9) organisations that are independent power producers (IPPs), one (1) organisation that is a private power distributor, and one (1) organisation that is a bulk power consumer, making a total of eleven (11) members.

Power Producers

Our members includes Independent Power producers who invest in power generation - thermal and renewable energy to ensure reliable power supply for the socio-economic revolution of Ghana.

Power Distributors

This involves members who are licensed to privately engage in power distribution services in Ghana.

Bulk Consumers

Bulk consumer members are industry based institutions that are high consumers of electricity and are licensed to procure power from any generator.

Sunon Asogli Power

560 MW THERMAL PLANT

Sunon Asogli Power Plant is a 560 MW natural gas-fired thermal power station in Ghana. It is located in the Kpone neighborhood of the port city of Tema, approximately 32 kilometres (20 mi), by road, east of the central business district of Ghana’s capital city, Accra.

Cenpower Generation

350 MW THERMAL PLANT

Cenpower Generation Company Limited (“Cenpower”) is a Special Purpose Vehicle created to develop the Kpone Independent Power Plant (“KIPP”) in the Tema industrial zone, close to Accra, Ghana’s capital. The thermal plant produces 350MW.

Karpowership

470 MW POWERSHIP

In June 2014, Karpowership signed a 470 MW contract with Electricity Company of Ghana to deploy a Powership for a period of 10 years. Powerships has been in operation since 2015 utilizing HFO. With deployment to Sekondi Naval Base within 2nd Quarter of 2019, the fuel is switching to indigenous natural gas

BXC SOLAR/Meienergy

20 MW SOLAR FARM

The BXC solar plant is the single largest Solar farm project in West Africa, bringing to 20MW the total volume of power the country generates from utility scale solar PV plants.

126 MW THERMAL PLANT

CENIT Energy Limited aims to be the leader in the generation of electrical Power, capacity building and the showcasing of local content for the nation of Ghana.

Aksa Power Generation

260 THERMAL PLANT

AKSA Generators Ghana Ltd. has been serving Ghana and neighbor countries with the supply of generator sets, after-sales support, spare parts and services available 24/7, since it was established in East Legon-Accra in 2015. AKSA Power Generation has been manufacturing generators for over 30 years, and is one of the world’s leading generator manufacturer with a total output of more than 40,000 petrol, diesel and natural gas sets.

Early Power/Bridge Power

424 MW THERMAL PROJECT

The Bridge Power Project is a 424 MW gas-fired generation project under development in Tema, Ghana, by Early Power Limited, a Ghanaian company. Early Power is sponsored by a multinational consortium comprised of Endeavor Energy, General Electric (GE) and Sage Petroleum Limited, all well-known in the energy sector for delivering sustainable, reliable and competitively-priced energy solutions in developing countries.

Trojan Power

44 MW ENGINE BASED POWER PLANTS

Trojan Power is the first indigenous wholly-owned Ghanaian IPP, the first licensed embedded generation company and first to operate the largest fleet of engine-based generation power plant with 65MW capacity in generation assets located in two regions of Ghana. It’s also the first IPP to operate the largest bi-fuel technology system for power generation in Africa.

Corks Energy

420 MW THERMAL POWER PLANT

Corks Energy Ltd.  is emerging as one of Ghana’s largest industries. The group operates across multiple sectors, including the power sector, infrastructure & supply of electrical distribution materials, supply and trading in Liquefied Petroleum Gas, amongst others. It started off as Raz-Ameera Company Ltd., by engaging in the haulage of petroleum products, distribution of electrical materials & services to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), etc., and has over the years achieved great heights through the involvement of proven technologies from trusted suppliers and manufacturers.

Enclave Power Ghana

PRIVATE POWER DISTRIBUTOR

Enclave Power Company  is licensed by the Energy Commission to distribute and sell electricity to all customers within the Free Zones Enclave in Tema. Currently, EPC is the only private electric distribution utility in Ghana, the other two being Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), which are quasi-governmental organizations.
