Karpowership Ghana donates food items to Muslim community in support of Ramadan

Karpowership Ghana has donated food items to the Muslim Community in Sekondi-Takoradi in support of Ramadan.

The donated items include bags of rice, cartons of vegetable oil, milk, canned fish, among others.

Presenting the items, Corporate Communications Specialist of Karpowership Ghana, Sandra Amarquaye, said the gesture is “a mark of Karpowership’s solidarity with Muslims in the Sekondi community during this holy month of Ramadan.”

“We pray for God’s guidance and protection to see you all through till the end of this fast,” she said.

Ms Amarquaye was hopeful the food items could be used by the Muslim community members when they break their fast on daily basis.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Muslim community, Abdul Rahaman, the Chief Imam for Takoradi  expressed appreciation to Karpowership for its kind gesture and prayed for the successes for the company.

He assured the items will be distributed fairly to community members.

This is not the first time the company is supporting the Sekondi community which hosts Karpowership’s 470MW. Last year, it made a similar donation to the Muslim community.

The company has also implemented a number of corporate social responsibility projects in the area.
