Togbe Afede XIV crowned Overall Entrepreneur of the Decade at Ghana Entrepreneurs and Corporate Executive Awards

Togbe Afede XIV, The Executive Chairman of the World Trade Centre in Accra, Agbogbomefia or Paramount Chief of the Asogli State in the Volta Region of Ghana & current President of the National House of Chiefs, Board Chairman of CIPDiB, Board member of Ensign College of Public Health,  founder and CEO of SAS Finance Group Ltd, an investment banking firm, and Strategic Initiatives Ltd, a private equity and portfolio investment firm has been crown today Saturday 18th July, 2020 as the Overall Entrepreneur of the Decade at Ghana Entrepreneurs and Corporate Executive Awards. He has more than 20 years of experience as an investment banker and entrepreneur.

Togbe has gathered enormous experience as a worker in different companies. He worked with the erstwhile Bank for Housing and Construction as a planning officer, – Ghana Cocoa Marketing Board as an Accountant, – lecturer in Economics and Accounting at Sokoto State Polytechnic School of Management Studies in Nigeria, – and lecturer at the School of Administration, University of Ghana, where he taught Financial Accounting and Accounting Theory. As a known industrious and innovative person, Togbe was one of the Co-founders of Databank Financial Services Ltd.

As a statesman and selfless person, Togbe Afede XIV, had the chance to be a member of many boards. Togbe currently serves on the boards of Aluworks Ltd- an Aluminium rolling mill, Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club Ltd-Ghana’s premier soccer club, Bank of Ghana – Ghana’s Central Bank, China Africa Co. Ltd (Chairman) an international trading and business representation firm, Pioneer Kitchenware Ltd (Chairman), an Aluminium hollow ware manufacturer, SAS Finance Group Ltd, Strategic Initiatives Ltd (Chairman), Board Chairman of Chamber of Independent Power Producers, Distributors and Bulk Consumers (CIPDiB), Director of Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Ltd an independent Power Plant which injects 560 megawatts of energy into Ghana’s power supply system and Trans Africa Telecom Ltd. He also served as a member of the President of Ghana’s Economic Advisory Council under the late President John Evans Atta Mills of Ghana.

Togbe Afede has received many national and international awards. Some of these awards include: Liberia’s Golden Image Award in 2011 for peace development initiatives , presented to him by the President of Liberia, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the Order of the Volta Officer, presented to him by former President of Ghana J.A. Kufuor, (3rd July, 2008), Planters of Seed Award at the Ghana Club 100 Awards ceremony.

At the Millennium Excellence Awards on the 19th of August, 2005, Togbe won the personality of the year award, for his tremendous contributions to the progress of the society.
